The cap for rewards and monster difficulty is 150.Once you’ve made it as far as you can, you will get rewards based on the highest difficulty wave you reached. You simply fight wave after wave of increasingly difficult enemies until you are either Overwhelmed (tracked by a meter while in the Nightmare) or you die. You cannot complete an Echoing Nightmare.Unlike Greater Rifts, if you’re in a group, only one party member needs a Petrified Scream for the entire party to enter one.Once you have one, you must transmute it in Kanai’s Cube, and you will be sent to the Nightmare. This is not a guaranteed drop from any Level. To get into an Echoing Nightmare, you must first find a Petrified Scream from a Greater Rift. This wave-based dungeon can grant you even more gear, and a way to upgrade your equipment even further. Caldesann himself is seen in a flashback during the quest, but is otherwise represented via his memory.Ĭaldesann is referenced in Diablo III via the "Caldesann's Despair" recipe for Kanai's Cube. The Echoing Nightmare is a dungeon tied directly to Greater Rifts. The NPC features in the Legacy of the Horadrim system, and is obtained once the player inserts the Caldesann's Compassion vessel. The Memory of Caldesann appears as an NPC in Diablo Immortal. In 1270, under direction of the Memory of Iben Fahd, the Shard-seeker awoke Caldesann's memory, which imparted tales of its progenitor. Despite his grim experiences, his memory commented that the best things he did were before the Horadrim. However, his pacifism did not extend to demons. Legacy Ĭaldesann was apparently haunted by his experiences during the Hunt for the Three enough for him to become a pacifist. However, killing demons was at least more palatable than killing his fellow human beings. Despite his earlier vow to never again kill on the battlefield, Caldesann found plenty of death awaiting him in the Horadrim's crusade against the Prime Evils. As the Horadrim could not conquer death, these vessels would store their memories for future Horadrim. He was among those who bound their essence into vessels. Caldesann and his fellow Horadrim bind their essenceĬaldesann later became a member of the Horadrim.
